Article VIII. HONORS AND AWARDS
To recognize and honor outstanding performance, the school will confer the following Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals to exemplary graduating students. The selection will be done through deliberation by the Department Heads, Registrar, and School Head, based on the guidelines below.

Section 1. Honors
The school recognizes outstanding students each semester and during graduation exercises with the following awards and guidelines:

President’s Academic Award
-
Awarded to students with a general average of 1.25 or higher and grades in all subjects no lower than 1.50.

The highest honor, acknowledging exceptional academic performance and consistency.

Vice-President’s Academic Award
-
Awarded to students with a general average of 1.50 or higher and grades in all subjects no lower than 1.75.
-
The second highest honor, recognizing significant academic achievement and dedication.

College Honors Award
-
Awarded to students with a general average of 1.75 or higher and grades in all subjects no lower than 2.00.

Honors students for commendable academic performance and overall excellence.

Section 2.Awards
The school will recognize exemplary graduating students with the following awards. The Department Heads, Registrar, and School Head will conduct a thorough deliberation to determine the deserving awardees.

1. Outstanding Student of the Year. Awarded to the graduating student who has demonstrated exceptional academic performance, leadership, and contribution to school activities.
Award: Gold Medal
Grade: No grades below 90 and incomplete grades in all subjects.
Criteria:
Academic Excellence (GWA not lower than 90%) – 40%
Leadership in student organizations – 20%
Participation in school/community activities – 15%
Character and discipline – 15%
Teacher recommendations – 10%
2. Junior Programmer of the Year. Awarded to a student who has excelled in programming and demonstrated outstanding skills and creativity in coding projects.
Award: Gold Medal
Grade: No grades below 90 and incomplete grades in all Programming subjects.
Criteria
Technical proficiency (code quality, logic, structure) – 40%
Creativity and innovation in projects – 25%
Completion of major programming projects – 20%
Peer/Instructor feedback – 15%
3. Junior Web Page Designer of the Year. Awarded to a student who has shown excellence in web design, including innovative design and functionality in web projects.
Award: Gold Medal
Grade: No grades below 90 and incomplete grades in all Webpage/Internet related subjects.
Criteria:
Design aesthetics and usability – 35%
Technical functionality (responsive, interactive, clean code) – 30%
Creativity and originality – 20%
Peer/Instructor feedback – 15%
4. Encoder of the Year. Awarded to a student who has displayed exceptional accuracy and efficiency in computer typing and document processing.
Award: Gold Medal
Grade: No grades below 90 and incomplete grades in all Computer Typing subjects.
Criteria:
Typing speed and accuracy – 40%
Formatting and document layout – 25%
Output quality (error-free documents) – 20%
Dependability and punctuality – 15%
5. Secretary of the Year. Awarded to a student who has excelled in clerical, administrative and organizational tasks, demonstrating professionalism and efficiency.
Award: Gold Medal
Grade: No grades below 90 and incomplete grades in all OM, Ctype, and Steno subjects.
Criteria:
Timeliness and accuracy of documentation – 35%
Professionalism and organization – 25%
Communication and coordination skills – 20%
Peer and supervisor feedback – 20%
6. Proficiency in Stenography. Awarded to a student who has demonstrated exceptional skill, speed, and accuracy in stenographic transcription, showcasing mastery in shorthand writing and transcription tasks.
Award: Gold Medal
Grade: No grades below 90 and no incomplete grades in all Stenography subjects (Theory and Speed Building).
Criteria:
Speed and accuracy in transcription – 40%
Mastery of stenographic theory and principles – 25%
Timely submission and formatting of transcriptions – 20%
Professionalism and consistency – 15%
7. Artist of the Year. Awarded to a student who has shown outstanding talent and creativity in visual arts, including paintings, drawings, and other artistic expressions.
Award: Gold Medal
Grade: No failing grades in all subjects.
Criteria:
Creativity and Originality – 40%
Technical Skill and Execution – 30%
Participation in Art Exhibits or Competitions – 20%
Growth and Expressiveness – 10%
8. Proficiency Award in Computer-Based Accountancy. Awarded to a student who has achieved exceptional proficiency in computer-based accounting and related accounting software applications.
Award: Gold Medal
Grade: No grades below 90 and incomplete grades in all Computer and Theoretical Accounting subjects.
Criteria:
Mastery of Software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, Peachtree) – 40%
Accuracy and Timeliness in Tasks – 25%
Performance in Simulations/Projects – 20%
Discipline and Professional Conduct – 15%
9. Computer Hardware Technician of the Year. Awarded to a student who has demonstrated outstanding skills and knowledge in computer hardware maintenance and repair.
Award: Gold Medal
Grade: No grades below 95 and incomplete grades in all Computer Hardware/Systems subjects.
Criteria:
Technical Troubleshooting and Diagnostics – 35%
Maintenance and Repair Skills – 25%
Quality of Completed Tasks – 25%
Safety and Professional Conduct – 15%
10. Circuit Designer of the Year. Awarded to a student who has excelled in the design and implementation of electronic circuits and systems.
Award: Gold Medal
Grade: No grades below 95 and incomplete grades in all Computer Hardware/Systems subjects.
Criteria:
Accuracy and Functionality – 35%
Complexity and Innovation – 25%
Project Completion – 25%
Neatness and Safety Compliance – 15%
11. Network Administrator of the Year. Awarded to a student who has shown excellence in managing and maintaining computer networks, including troubleshooting and network optimization.
Award: Gold Medal
Grade: No grades below 95 and incomplete grades in all Computer Hardware/Systems subjects.
Criteria:
Network Setup and Management – 35%
Troubleshooting and Security – 30%
Documentation and Logs – 20%
Peer and Instructor Feedback – 15%
12. STCFI Service Awards. The STCFI Service Awards recognize graduating students who have made significant contributions to the school community through meaningful service and leadership roles. This includes participation in school activities, leadership in clubs or committees, volunteer work, mentoring, and other community-enhancing efforts.
General Qualifications
To be considered for this award, the student must:

Be a graduating student in good standing (academic and disciplinary).

Have rendered at least 30 hours of verified service to the school or its programs.

Have actively participated in school-based leadership, volunteerism, or student organizations during their stay in STCFI.

Be endorsed by at least one faculty member or student organization adviser.

13. Outstanding SG Awards. The Outstanding SG Awards recognize graduating students who have shown exceptional leadership, commitment, and performance in their roles within the Student Government. These students have actively contributed to the success of school activities, inspired their peers, and upheld the values of responsible leadership and service.
General Qualifications
To qualify for this award, the student must:

Be a graduating student who served in the Student Government (SG) for at least one full academic year.

Have no record of serious disciplinary infractions.
-
Be officially endorsed by the SG adviser and at least one faculty member.
-
Have spearheaded, co-led, or significantly contributed to one or more major SG projects or school initiatives.

Section 3. Recognition
-
Students who have represented the school and/or won in competitions at the local, provincial, regional, national, or international levels shall be given due recognition. These students have demonstrated exemplary performance in their respective fields such as academics, athletics, the arts, and other recognized disciplines, and have upheld the values and reputation of the institution.

In addition to these recognitions, the school may also honor students who have brought distinction and honor to the school through outstanding contributions, achievements, or participation in events recognized by relevant academic, government, or professional organizations.
Section 4. Disqualifications of Honors, Awards and Recognition
A student may be disqualified from receiving honors or awards under the following conditions:

Disciplinary Action. A candidate will be disqualified if they have been subjected to intensive disciplinary action due to repeated offenses, including second, third, or fourth sanctions.
-
Incomplete Grades. A candidate will be disqualified if they have an Incomplete (INC) grade in any of their officially enrolled subjects at the time of the award deliberation.​
